Rapper and business mogul Jay-Z has taken legal action in response to a rape allegation filed against him, requesting that the accuser, currently identified as Jane Doe, reveal her identity. According to court documents submitted on Monday by his lawyer, Alex Spiro, the motion argues that transparency is essential to ensuring fairness in the legal process.
“Fair is fair,” Spiro stated in the motion. “It is not consistent with justice, fairness, or the rules governing federal proceedings for the Plaintiff and her counsel to smear [Jay-Z]’s good name while shielding her identity.”
The lawsuit accuses Jay-Z of sexually assaulting the plaintiff in 2000 at an after-party following the MTV Video Music Awards. The woman, who claims she was 13 years old at the time, has also named Diddy in the suit. Jay-Z has vehemently denied the allegations, describing them as a baseless attempt at blackmail.
Spiro emphasized Jay-Z’s reputation, stating, “He has always maintained an impeccable record and has never been accused of or engaged in sexual misconduct.”

Buzbee, however, has stood firm, accusing Jay-Z of attempting to “bully and harass” both him and his client.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Buzbee wrote, “Jay-Z’s intimidation tactics won’t work. We are prepared to present our case in court.”
