Metro Boomin, the acclaimed producer known for his recent chart-topping albums We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You, is expanding his creative horizons with the launch of his debut comic book series, The Metroverse. The inaugural issue of this highly anticipated comic will be released on June 13 at a special Complex LA pop-up event, and through the Complex Shop.
In The Metroverse, readers will follow the adventures of the Metro character as he battles against The Suit, a villain intent on destroying art. This storyline draws inspiration from the same imaginative universe Metro Boomin crafted for his Grammy-nominated 2022 album, Heroes & Villains. Metro expressed his excitement, describing the comic’s release as “a dream come true,” and he credited his collaborators Joshua Frankel and Patrick Stephens from Zero Zero, along with artist Vasilis Lolos, for their pivotal roles in bringing his superhero vision to life.
Fans eager to dive into Metro’s new world can purchase the first issue, titled “The Rise,” at the Complex LA pop-up and online via the Complex Shop. However, only 4,000 copies will be available, making it a coveted collector’s item. The pop-up event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time, will also feature exclusive Metroverse merchandise.
