Jay-Z Becomes First to Own $340,000 Bugatti Tourbillon Hyperwatch

Jay-Z has once again cemented his place as a luxury trendsetter by becoming the first person to own the ultra-exclusive Bugatti Tourbillon hyperwatch, valued at $340,000. The iconic piece was designed by famed jeweler Jacob Arabo, widely known as Jacob the Jeweler. Renowned for his collection of rare and exquisite timepieces, the billionaire rapper and entrepreneur was spotted sporting the watch at Fanatics Fest’s recreation of the 40/40 Club in New York on Friday.

The exclusive watch caught attention after Jacob the Jeweler shared a video on Instagram, revealing Jay-Z as the first owner of the Bugatti Tourbillon. “My dear friend @jayz was the first to own the 5-time zone watch. 25 years later, he’s the first to own the Bugatti [tourbillon],” Jacob wrote, underscoring their long-standing relationship and Jay-Z’s influence in the world of high-end watches.

The Bugatti Tourbillon is inspired by the luxury carmaker’s Tourbillon hyper sports car, priced at a staggering $4.1 million. The watch is limited to just 150 pieces worldwide, making it a truly rare collector’s item. Crafted with a 52 x 44 mm case that mirrors the car’s design, the watch features a front grille, side radiator inlets, and large sapphire side windows, all resembling the Bugatti’s architecture.

What truly sets this watch apart is its intricate engineering. Inside, it’s powered by a V16 engine block automaton made from a single block of transparent sapphire, a nod to Bugatti’s revolutionary engine design. The 30-second flying tourbillon and retrograde hours and minutes are designed to mimic the car’s RPM counter, representing the pinnacle of watchmaking technology. “This isn’t just a watch—it’s a symbol of our commitment to innovation, craftsmanship, and the pursuit of the impossible,” Jacob added.

Jay-Z’s history of owning rare and luxurious watches is well documented. Three years ago, he made headlines for wearing a Richard Mille RM 56-01 Tourbillon at an All-White Fourth of July event hosted by Michael Rubin of the Philadelphia 76ers. That piece, highlighted by green sapphire crystals, was reportedly worth $3 million and was another custom commission.

The rapper’s collection also includes a blue sapphire-cased Richard Mille 56, which cost $2.5 million and took 3,000 hours to produce. These timepieces are more than just accessories—they represent Jay-Z’s status, taste, and continuous push for excellence in luxury fashion.

With the Bugatti Tourbillon now added to his collection, Jay-Z continues to set the bar for luxury watch ownership, combining his love for innovation, exclusivity, and timeless style.
