Jonathan Majors’ ‘Magazine Dreams’ Returns With Intense New Trailer Ahead of 2025 Release

After a two-year delay, Magazine Dreams is finally set to hit theaters, and its first official trailer has reignited interest in the long-awaited film. Starring Jonathan Majors as an obsessive aspiring bodybuilder, the Elijah Bynum-directed drama will premiere on March 21, 2025, under Briarcliff Entertainment.

The newly released trailer plunges viewers into the troubled mind of Killian Maddox, a man driven by his relentless ambition to become a bodybuilding icon. The preview opens with Maddox’s chilling voiceover: “You have to do something big and important, or no one will remember you when you’re dead.” From there, the film teases an intense exploration of isolation, self-destruction, and the cost of chasing greatness.

Originally acquired by Searchlight Pictures after its critically acclaimed Sundance premiere in 2023, Magazine Dreamswas expected to be a major awards contender, largely due to Majors’ powerful performance. However, the film was shelved following the actor’s legal troubles, including a conviction for assault and harassment. For nearly a year, its future remained uncertain.

Now revived by Briarcliff Entertainment, the film is finally getting its theatrical release. Majors, who underwent 18 months of rigorous training to embody the role, is joined by a strong supporting cast, including Taylour Paige, Haley Bennett, and veteran actor Harrison Page.

With its intense new trailer, Magazine Dreams is back in the spotlight, sparking both excitement for its raw storytelling and debate surrounding its controversial lead actor.
