After years of heartbreak, healing, and hard-won growth, Mel B—aka Scary Spice—has finally found her happily ever after. The 50-year-old pop icon tied the knot with her longtime love, 37-year-old hairstylist Rory McPhee, in a stunning ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on Saturday, July 5th.
The wedding, equal parts regal and romantic, took place at the same storied venue where Princess Diana and Prince Charles famously exchanged vows in 1981. And Mel B certainly made a royal statement of her own, wearing an elegant white gown adorned with pearls, transparent tulle sleeves, and a long veil that trailed gracefully behind her. Her signature curls, kissed with golden highlights, framed her face as she walked down the aisle, radiating joy and confidence.
The America’s Got Talent judge confirmed the nuptials with two simple yet heartfelt Instagram posts. The first featured the newlyweds walking hand in hand, captioned with the date and a heart: “❤️ 05.07.25.” The second post showed Mel from behind, the back of her dress cheekily emblazoned with “Just Married.” She added, “MARRIED ❤️❤️❤️,” to mark the special moment.
This marks Mel B’s third marriage, but as she’s hinted in interviews and her memoir, this one feels different—and deeply right. The Spice Girl and McPhee have been together for several years, and in 2022, she revealed to Hello! magazine that for the first time, her fellow Spice Girls gave their stamp of approval. “It’s really special to me that they like Rory so much,” she shared. “Because they’ve never liked any of my boyfriends.”
While not all the Spice Girls could be there in person, the love was still felt. Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) attended the ceremony, and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) sent her congratulations on Instagram, calling McPhee a “very lucky man.” Melanie C (Sporty Spice) also sent her love, writing, “So so happy for you both… beyond gutted I couldn’t be there.”
Brown has been open about her past, including her struggles in previous relationships. In her candid memoir Brutally Honest, she described McPhee as a grounded and kind man, someone who knew her family long before their romance began. “A man I am allowing myself to trust, though I still have a way to go,” she wrote. Their bond grew stronger during the pandemic, when the couple began living together. They got engaged in 2022.
McPhee, a respected hairdresser with a client base that spans from Leeds to London, even styled Mel B’s hair during the Spice Girls’ 2019 tour—a fitting detail for a couple who clearly blends work and love seamlessly.
Mel B has often acknowledged that her romantic journey has been filled with painful lessons, but she’s also made it clear: she’s learned from them. “Down to my core, I knew that I had found a good and decent man with morals,” she wrote about McPhee.
And now, the world is celebrating with her.
From all of us: Congratulations to Scary Spice! May this new chapter be filled with peace, joy, and a love that lasts longer than any chart-topping hit.
