Simone Biles Takes Subtle Jab at Donald Trump After Paris Olympics Victory: “I Love My Black Job”

Paris, France – Olympic gymnastics superstar Simone Biles celebrated her recent triumph at the 2024 Paris Olympics with a subtle yet pointed remark aimed at former President Donald Trump. Biles, who secured her sixth Olympic gold medal in the individual all-around gymnastics final, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday to reflect on her historic win and respond to a supportive comment from singer-songwriter Ricky Davila.

“I love my Black job,” Biles wrote in her post, echoing Davila’s praise, where he lauded her as the “GOAT” (greatest of all time) and celebrated her continued dominance in gymnastics.

Biles’ comment appeared to be a subtle rebuke of recent statements made by Trump. The former president has repeatedly claimed that immigrants in the U.S. are “taking Black jobs,” a notion he reiterated during the June 27 presidential debate and again at the National Association of Black Journalists convention in Chicago earlier this week.

“I will tell you that coming from the border, are millions and millions of people that happen to be taking Black jobs,” Trump declared at the Chicago event. When pressed to clarify his unfounded assertion, he added, “A Black job is anybody that has a job. That’s what it is. Anybody that has — they’re taking the employment away from Black people. They’re coming in, and they’re coming in, they’re invading.”

Trump’s comments sparked outrage, and he faced further backlash at the same convention after questioning Vice President Kamala Harris’ identity as a Black woman. “She was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage,” Trump said to a room filled with Black journalists. “I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago, when she happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black? I respect either one, but she obviously doesn’t, because she was Indian all the way, and then all of a sudden, she made a turn and she went — she became a Black person.”Simone biles

Harris, who is of both Jamaican and Indian descent, has consistently identified with both heritages. Her campaign swiftly responded to Trump’s remarks, denouncing them as “simply a taste of the chaos and division” that would characterize his potential second term in the White House.

Biles’ tweet, while celebratory of her monumental achievement, also served as a poignant counter to Trump’s divisive rhetoric. Her ability to seamlessly blend personal victory with social commentary underscores her influence beyond the gymnastics arena.

As Biles continues to shine on the world stage, her voice resonates not only through her athletic prowess but also through her stand against discriminatory narratives, reminding the world of the strength and resilience inherent in her journey.
