Tia Mowry is opening up about the changes in her life as she returns to reality television with her new series, Tia Mowry: My Next Act on We TV. In a recently released teaser for the show, the Sister, Sister star reflected on the emotional challenges she has faced since her divorce from Cory Hardrict in April 2023. While discussing her personal struggles, Tia revealed that she and her twin sister, Tamera Mowry, are no longer as close as they once were.
“Being alone has been the most challenging part of my divorce,” the 46-year-old actress said in the teaser. “It’s times like this when I feel and wish that my sister and I were still close, and I could pick up the phone and call her.”
This revelation sparked a wave of speculation among fans, many of whom have been wondering why the two sisters have grown distant. While neither Tia nor Tamera has directly addressed the reason for the apparent rift, fans have been trying to piece things together from their recent interviews.
In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, Tamera was asked about Tia’s upcoming reality show. To the surprise of many, she admitted that she hadn’t been aware of the show until the news went public. “Tia is living her life right now, and Tia is doing Tia,” she said, before adding with a playful smirk, “I didn’t know until I found out with the rest of the world!”

When asked if she would appear on her sister’s show, Tamera confirmed she hadn’t been asked to participate. “Uh, she didn’t ask me. So I take that as no! She’s like, this is my story, and you know, I can only respect that.”
Tamera also addressed rumors about her setting Tia up on dates since her divorce. “I feel like she doesn’t want any of our input right now… and I can only respect that,” she shared. “She’s doing her, and I’m just respecting that.”
Despite the speculation, a close source attempted to clarify the situation, explaining that the twins remain close, but their physical distance has played a part in their growing apart. “The sisters are close, but the quote being referenced was about their physical location—Tamera lives in Napa, and Tia lives in Los Angeles.”
Fans are hopeful that, despite the distance, the two can rekindle their close bond. Tia’s new show is set to premiere on October 4, offering more insight into her life post-divorce and her evolving relationship with her family.
